The coolant you will find in your GM Vehicle is called Dexcool and, similar to other auto fluids, it requires regular maintenance. Coolant in your vehicle serves many purposes. It plays a critical role in keeping your engine cool during the summer, helps keep your radiator from freezing over during winter and also heats the cabin of your vehicle.

Overtime, if your coolant is not maintained, it can clog subsystems in your cooling system. Flushing your cooling system can keep buildup at bay and keep your coolant flowing freely.  If your coolant is not frequently maintained, it can result in unnecessary car repairs such as your vehicle overheating or engine damage.

Did you know that your vehicle has a cabin air filter?  And that it also requires regular replacing? Cabin air filters are used to filter out dust and debris from coming into the passenger compartment to keep optimum air quality. The filter should be inspected and/or changed every year.

You may need to change your cabin air filter if:
  • The air flow through your HVAC system has reduced
  • Your HVAC system is producing excess noise, indicating that it's working harder
  • Persistent bad smells within your vehicle
  • If you are able to inspect your filter and find an accumulation of dirt and grit

Just like any other liquid in your vehicle, your transmission fluid has a limited life span. Over time, the fluid disintegrates or can become contaminated by impurities. In order to maintain optimal performance, your transmission fluid should be serviced according to the owner's manual recommendations. That helps preserve the life of the transmission and helps maintain your vehicle warranty. An exception to this rule is if your vehicle is used frequently for towing or hauling.

Here are signs your vehicle needs a transmission fluid change

  • Burning smell inside and/or outside your vehicle
  • Leaking fluid
  • Poor fuel economy
  • Check engine light is on
  • Grinding or shaking when changing gears
  • Delay in vehicle movement when trying to accelerate
  • Rough or harsh shifts

An unexpected repair or breakdown in the vehicle can be the result of neglect, lack of maintenance or lack of regular vehicle inspections. A multi-point inspection is a great way to find out if there are any issues with your car that need to take be taken care of. If you drive your vehicle more often than the average driver, we recommend getting your vehicle inspected whenever you are in for an oil change. Otherwise, once a season should suffice.

A certified Multi-Point Vehicle Inspection takes approximately one hour to perform. Below are some of the components that are involved:
