Preferred Customer FAQs
Who is eligible for a Shaw Preferred Customer card?
A customer who purchases a vehicle from Shaw GMC Pontiac Buick Hummer. However, cards are not issued to businesses. Owners of small businesses may apply but the card will be in the name of the individual. Cards are not issued to customers who already have commercial (trade) accounts. Employees of Shaw GMC and their spouses are not eligible.
Are there any reasons a Shaw card might be denied?
The primary reason is a poor credit rating. Generally, if GMAC, Shaw Lease, or any other lender approves the customer for credit, we do too.
How soon will I get my Shaw Preferred Customer card?
Times may vary. It is best to expect approximately four to six weeks before receiving your Shaw Preferred Customer card.
Can I get a second card for my spouse?
Yes, you may request a card for your spouse on your application or by sending us a written request. While we don't offer more than one account per household, it is possible for the spouse's card to show different identification numbers and key codes if a second vehicle is purchased.
Do I receive a discount with my Shaw Preferred Customer card?
Yes, a 15% discount on GM parts purchased over the counter is available to Shaw Card holders.
What are the terms of the Shaw Preferred Customer Card?
Cardholders have 30 days from the date of purchase, interest free. An interest rate of only 9.9% applies to balances carried past 30 days. Minimum monthly payments must be made to keep the account in good standing. For a complete list of terms and conditions click here.

Community Involvement
Shaw GMC has been sponsoring the Calgary Stampede chuck wagons for 20 years and even participated in one of the first canvas auctions ever held at the Stampede. Jason Glass' checkered chuck wagon has sported the Shaw GMC canvas for fourteen consecutive years.
The Glass family has been involved with chuck wagon racing for nearly a century. Jason Glass is a fourth generation chuck wagon driver who began driving in 1989. One of the finest drivers on the circuit, Jason has won many accolades and awards over the course of his career. He is the two time recipient of the Calgary Stampede Fan Favorite award and was the World Champion Chuck wagon Driver in 2000. Jason was ranked fifth in the world at the end of the 2005 season. Help cheer on Jason Glass in his checkered Chuck wagon in this year's GMC Rangeland Derby!
Back in 1971, Ralph MacDonald, a used vehicle salesperson approached Dealer Principal Larry Shaw with an unusual request. His daughter Leslie had become Stampede Queen and the Stampede royalty was in dire need of a set of wheels. Shaw GMC came to the rescue and has been providing the Stampede Queen and Princesses with transportation ever since.
